About The Fiji Islands
Fiji Islands HistoryAccording
to the legends, after travelling across the Pacific Ocean
the first Fijians landed at Vuda point. Even though this is
just legend, historians all agree that the first settlers
came about 3,500 years ago from Melanesia. Europeans did not
discover the islands until much later around 1643 by a Dutch
navigator named Abel Tasman. Fiji Islands WeatherFiji enjoys a tropical
climate year-round. You can expect warm temperatures: 75 to
90 degrees with humidity during the day, and 70 to 78 at
night. Jean-Michael Cousteau Fiji Island Resort is located
on a point of land that recieves cool breezes for most of
the year. In your bure, you will find two walls of louvered
windows to take advantage of these breezes. Fiji is located
in the tropics, so there is always the possibility of a rain
shower, but normally these showers will last a short while
and then move on. Because Fiji is so close to the equater,
there is little variation in the seasons, although the
"summer" months of December through March are known to have
a little more rain and humidity. |
